Bio

Mr Keary was appointed Managing Director, Asia Pacific Region, in March 2017, and currently serves on AMP Capital’s Global Leadership Team. Based in Asia, Mr Keary oversees all of AMP Capital’s client activity and strategic partnerships in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this, Mr Keary was Director, Australia & New Zealand and Head of Retail Business at AMP Capital. As Head of the Retail Business, he was charged with leading the company’s new retail business to better meet the needs of adviser networks across AMP and the former AXA business. Serving as Chairman of AMP Capital Investors New Zealand Limited since 2016, Mr Keary was also appointed to the role of Director of Evergen Pty Ltd (a joint venture) in July 2016. In addition to this, he is currently a Director of AMP Capital Investors Japan KK, AMP Capital Advisory (Beijing) Limited, AMP Capital Investors (Hong Kong) and on the board of the Australian Japan Business Cooperation Committee. Mr Keary is passionate about innovation and digital transformation. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in driving forward-thinking solutions that better serve the needs of customers and move with the pace of a rapidly changing industry. He is a Senior Fellow of FINSIA, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Directors, a former member of the ASX’s disciplinary tribunal and lectures in the Master of Applied Finance programme at Kaplan. Mr Keary has been a member of the UWS School of Business Research and Higher Degrees Committee, the CSIRO Stakeholder Superannuation Research Cluster Committee, and the Funds Management Reference Group for the Australian Centre for Financial Studies. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Financial Planning, focusing on the drivers of customer behaviour and happiness, and how these link with successful financial planning.
