Bio

At Closed Loop Partners, Maite co-heads Closed Loop Partners’ private equity platform, the Closed Loop Leadership Fund. Her role includes identifying industry trends, deal generation, due diligence and portfolio management. Maite has been a leading executive in the recycling industry for over 15 years. Most recently, she was the Director of Business Development and Sales for Sims Municipal Recycling, the largest Metal and Electronics recycler in the world and the operator of one of the largest and most advanced municipal recycling facilities in the world, located in New York City. Maite was responsible for business development, purchasing of third party commodities and marketing the metal, glass, plastics and paper coming from the Sims’ facilities. Prior to Sims, Maite was the President of Sprint Recycling. At the time, Sprint was the largest private hauling and processing company in New York City. While at Sprint, Maite was named a “Top 40 under 40” businessperson by Crain’s New York Business in 2007. Earlier in her career, as a television producer, she produced and directed over 40 hours of documentary television for ABC, CBS, Discovery, Nickelodeon and more. Maite has served on the board of Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), where she is currently the Chairperson of the MRF Council, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), where she currently Co-Chairs the Design for Recycling Committee, the Association of New Jersey Recyclers and the Westfield Green Team. Maite has a BA from Rutgers University and an MBA from Baruch College.
