Bio

Michael became President and CEO of Westec Security Group in Newport Beach, California in 1985. During a fifteen-year tenure at Westec, Michael led the company through a series of successful growth initiatives, acquisitions and divestitures. In 1985 Westec consisted solely of a $35 million operating unit. By 1994 the company’s portfolio had grown to $250 million, with 4,000 employees in 60 locations across the country. In 2000, Michael founded ClearLight Partners to leverage his 17 years of experience helping middle-market companies achieve their potential. Prior to joining Westec, Michael practiced corporate law with the national law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, in Los Angeles. He is fluent in Japanese, and has had extensive experience transacting business in Japan. He holds a BA degree from Stanford University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and studied Japanese law at the University of Tokyo in Japan.
