Bio

Martin joined CBRE Caledon in July 2012 as a Partner and, along with David, is responsible for developing and guiding the Firm’s private markets investment strategies. He is involved with and oversees all phases of the investment process, including origination and sourcing, due diligence, execution, and investment monitoring and reporting. Martin is also actively involved with CBRE Caledon’s investor relations initiatives and takes an active approach to client interaction and portfolio management. Martin has over 20 years of private markets experience. His professional experience includes holding the position of Managing Director at OMERS Private Equity where he was responsible for managing the private equity fund and co-investment program with a committed value of over $5 billion as well as executing and managing direct private equity investments. Martin has eight years of co-investing experience with 20 completed transactions representing over $1 billion of invested capital. While at OMERS, Martin was a director and then Vice-Chair of the ILPA and involved in the development of the ILPA Private Equity Guidelines. Prior to OMERS, Martin was the Vice President and General Counsel at EdgeStone Capital Partners where he managed execution of direct and indirect investments, including the negotiation of purchase and sale, shareholder and other relevant agreements. Martin began his career practicing securities and M&A law at Goodmans LLP in Toronto and Hong Kong. Martin graduated with a BA (Psychology) and a MBA from the Schulich School of Business (York University) as well as his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School.
