Michael Macias is the Chief Financial Officer of Bruin Sports Capital. He joined Bruin in 2020 after nine years as controller for Swander Pace Capital, a global private equity firm specializing in the consumer products industry. While at SPC, Michael was responsible for financial management and reporting, investor relations, valuations, audits, international tax strategies, and structures. He also advised portfolio company finance teams on financial and tax compliance reporting streams and general best practices. Before SPC, Mike had similar accounting and finance responsibilities for Beacon Trust Company, the New Jersey-based Investment Management Firm for high net worth clients. He began his career as an associate in the assurance practice at KPMG, LLP focusing primarily on investment management and private equity funds. Michael received a BBA summa cum laude and an MBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas and New York. He resides in Chester, NJ with his wife and three children and also serves on the Board of Trustees for the local library. Mike is also a volunteer youth sports coach for softball, baseball, basketball, and football.
