Stephan Gummert, born in Hamburg, completed his military service in Neumünster and at the University of the Federal Armed Forces after graduating from secondary school. After an apprenticeship as a banker, he studied business administration at the University of Hamburg, accompanied by several internships, including Deutsche Bank Sydney, Gellert Wirtschaftsprüfung as well as Chair of Auditing and Taxation under Prof. Lothar Haberstock. After graduating with a degree in business administration, Stephan Gummert initially joined KPMG Hamburg as a management consultant, before moving to the corporate finance department in 1997. In 2001, Stephan Gummert joined Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he worked as Senior Project Manager in the area of restructuring and corporate finance until 2005. Here, he managed various M&A transactions and restructuring projects for both ”Mittelstand” companies and large international corporations. Stephan Gummert joined the BPE team in December 2005 and was appointed partner in May 2008.
