James joined Borromin in January 2002 where he has a joint role as CFO, responsible for all back-office functions (reporting, compliance, financial control) whilst also engaging directly in investment and portfolio work. He has special responsibility for the firm's investments in the Benelux region. In additon, he assits with fundraising and investor relations. James is a member of the Investment Committee of the Borromin Funds. James started his career in the private equity industry in 1995 with a Uk based, global private equity Company in the UK, thereafter in Germany as an investment director. Before this, he worked for nine years as a chartered accountant, the last five years of which were with Price Waterhouse in the UK. James is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a degree in Microbiology- BSc (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh.
