Mei Friedman, Managing Director, is the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the business organization and operations of the BlackRock Long Term Private Capital platform. Mei brings over 20 years of experience in direct private equity investing, primary fund and co-investing, and strategic advisory. Mei was most recently a Managing Director on BlackRock's Private Equity Partners investment team. Mei previously headed up the Asian investment team at Swiss Re Private Equity Partners based in Hong Kong for Angelo, Gordon & Co. Prior to Angelo Gordon, Mei structured convertible and equity derivative securities at Merrill Lynch's Equity Capital Markets, and spent several years in investment banking at Merrill Lynch covering industrial clients. Mei received her MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics and Computer Science from Wellesley College.
