Steve is a co-founder and former CEO and executive chairman of SquareTrade, a highly innovative protection plan provider that disrupted the roughly $20 billion consumer electronics service contract industry. He served as CEO from 1999 to 2014 and as executive chairman from 2014 until January 2017. From 1996 to 1999, he worked in the financial institutions and media practices of the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Steve is a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council for Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University. He is also a board member of AutoFi and iLending. Steve holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
