Richard joined BGF in January 2011 to establish the finance function. In August 2011 he was appointed Head of Finance with responsibility for BGF internal and statutory reporting. He also leads the reporting of portfolio company performance and valuation of BGF’s investments. Richard began his career working for a number of small accountancy practices, during which time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He joined 3i in 2001, reporting performance of unquoted investment funds to external investors during which time he gained significant exposure to investments in unquoted companies. He later worked on a number of projects for Smiths Aerospace, GE Aviation and Technicolor’s DVD manufacturing and distribution business.
