Mr. Schimel is a Managing Director and the Co-Head of H.I.G.'s Bayside Capital credit and special situations strategy in the U.S. Mr. Schimel has led several successful investments for the firm and currently sits on the Investment Committee for the Bayside U.S. funds. Mr. Schimel has more than twenty years of credit and special situations investment experience. Before joining Bayside, Mr. Schimel was an Associate at Lindsay Goldberg, a middle market private equity investment firm. In this role, he was responsible for investment analysis and working closely with the management of portfolio companies to execute strategic initiatives. Prior to Lindsay Goldberg, Mr. Schimel worked in the leveraged finance group at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Schimel received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
