Bio

Danel is a principal who currently focuses on early-stage and growth-equity investments in areas including cloud infrastructure, big data, security and next-generation enterprise applications. He is involved in Battery’s investments in Arize, Contrast Security, Harness, LinearB, Machinify, Matillion, Normalyze, Postman, Sensu, Styra and Weaviate. He is also involved in seed investment Voltron Data. Danel was previously involved with Bionic (Acquired by CrowdStrike), Bridgecrew (acquired by Palo Alto Networks) Confluent (NASDAQ: CFLT), JFrog (NASDAQ: FROG), Sensu (acquired by Sumo Logic) and Sumo Logic (NASDAQ: SUMO). Previously he worked in corporate development at Google on strategic M&A initiatives including acquisitions, divestitures and investments. Prior to this he also worked as an analyst at Deutsche Bank and an associate at PwC. Danel graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in commerce, with a concentration in accounting and finance and a minor in entrepreneurship.
