Munish joined Baring Private Equity Partners India in May 2007 and heads the Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) practice, in addition to being an Operating Partner. He has over 25 years of global experience in establishing and building businesses in the BFSI industry, having worked with Citigroup for 16 years as a senior managing director across major markets (London, Europe, Singapore, Middle East, India). His roles ranged from retail banking, cash management, and asset-based finance to custody, culminating as the Head of Small Business and Mass Markets Group for Asia Pacific. While at Citibank, he was involved with the integration of two major acquisitions – Bank Handlowy in Warsaw, Poland and Koram Bank in Seoul, South Korea. After his tenure at Citigroup in 2005, Munish became President of Business Banking at the start-up YES Bank. In this role he was instrumental in building the mid-market business as a key profit center, which aided the IPO of the bank. At present he serves as the chairman of Infrasoft Tech Limited and as a director on the board of RMZ Corp. He has served as a Director in the past on JRG Securities (now Inditrade Capital), and JRG Fincorp. He has been an influential adviser to the Predecessor Funds on BFSI investments, including Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance. He also serves as a member of the audit committee and remuneration and compensation committee of these companies. He is an elected member of the Executive Committee (EC) of the Indian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (IVCA). Munish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with Honors from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.
