Alvaro is the Investment Director at Swordfish Investments, where he co-founded and leads the venture capital practice. Over the past 10 years, Alvaro has led more than 80 investments in early stage technology companies and has sat on the Boards of over 25 companies, mostly in the digital consumer space. He has significant investment expertise across Europe, North America and Latin America. Alvaro is also a prominent early-stage angel investor, having backed two unicorns at seed stage. He acts as a strategic advisor to two venture capital funds and several companies in verticals including gaming, fintech and logistics. Prior to joining Swordfish in 2011, Alvaro was a private equity investor with Strategic Value Partners. Before that he was an M&A advisor at Goldman Sachs and UBS in London. Alvaro studied Business Administration at Deusto University, Spain, and International Business at NHH in Bergen, Norway.
