Denis Ackah-Yensu is a Managing Director at Axum. His primary responsibilities at Axum include identifying, evaluating, and structuring potential transactions. Mr. Ackah-Yensu’s experience includes middle-market private equity investing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. Prior to co-founding Axum, Mr. Ackah-Yensu worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at McColl Partners, a middle-market investment bank founded by the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America, Hugh McColl, Jr. At McColl Partners, Mr. Ackah-Yensu executed a wide range of leveraged buyout transactions across multiple industries. Previously, he identified and evaluated middle market private equity investments for Kamylon Capital and Summer Street Capital Partners. Mr. Ackah-Yensu began his career in the investment banking division of Citigroup, Inc., where he worked with large capitalization companies to execute mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising transactions, including some of the largest transactions in U.S. history. Mr. Ackah-Yensu graduated with honors from Pace University with a bachelor of business administration in finance. He has been involved in a broad range of transactions across a wide range of industries, including building products, business services, communication, consumer products, food and beverage, and diversified manufacturing sectors.
