John Civantos joined Avance Investment Management, LLC in 2022 and has spent 24 years investing private capital. Before joining Avance, John was the Co-Head of Private Capital at MSD Partners, and prior to that he was a Managing Partner with Court Square Capital Partners. During his career he has focused on leading transactions in the Technology and Services sectors, with successful investments including West Monroe Partners, Nutrisystem, System1, Vestcom, Dynata, DISA Global Solution, IWCO Direct and others. Mr. Civantos received his B.A. from Duke University and his M.B.A. with academic distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.A. in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is a long-time board member and an alumnus of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), a New York based non-profit which helps deserving high school and college students from underrepresented backgrounds close the college achievement gap and reach their full potential.
