Bio

Robert Lezec is a seasoned private equity executive with a strong track record of buy-out investing, as well as conceiving and executing successful performance improvement programs across a wide range of industries on a global basis. His unique combination of international M&A and operational expertise lends itself to creating optimum value within Atar’s portfolio of acquired companies. At Atar Capital, Robert contributes his expertise to the firm's entire investment life cycle, evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting the execution of all acquisitions and divestitures overseeing all post-closing activities, from 100-day transition plans to long term portfolio company management, working closely with all company executives to drive short and long term transformational initiatives. Prior to Atar Capital, Robert was one of the founding partners of OpenGate Capital, where he was responsible for the firm’s operations on a global basis. During his tenure at OpenGate Capital, he participated in the execution of over 40 cross-border transactions, and oversaw a portfolio of 15 companies with a combined revenue of $3 Billion located throughout North America, Latin America and Europe. Previously, Robert served in a variety of senior positions with Platinum Equity’s M&A and operations teams in Europe, and in management consulting working with KPMG in the United Kingdom and with Booz Allen & Hamilton in the USA. He also held various operating roles working with Schlumberger, Thermo Electron, and Charles Stark Draper Laboratories. He was also president and CEO of Indiqu, and early-stage pioneer in mobile entertainment and gaming, which was sold to Hands-on Mobile in 2001. Robert earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his MBA from INSEAD in France.
