Nia Gandy White is a Managing Director and the Head of Investor Relations and External Affairs for Astra. Prior to joining Astra, she was a Marketing Manager at GP Investments, a $5 billion Brazilian private equity fund, and an Investment Principal in the Investor Development Group at Actis, where she helped to raise a $1.7 billion global private equity fund, a $1.4 billion global energy fund and a $300 million Sub-Saharan African real estate fund. Prior thereto, Ms. White was a founding partner at MAP Capital, an advisory private placement firm, and Serenity Hospitality Group, a branded entertainment company. She began her career in high yield research focusing on telecommunications at Goldman Sachs & Co., where she was a Vice President in the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division. Ms. White serves on the New York Board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and as an advisor to the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC). Ms. White received a BS in Economics and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
