Bio

Deepak joined the Firm in 2008. He has over 20 years of experience, in different geographies, spanning private equity and operating roles in healthcare & technology. At Ascent Capital, Deepak focuses primarily on investments in healthcare, technology and education sectors. He is currently associated with young and rapidly growing portfolio companies in these sectors, working closely with entrepreneurs at the strategic and operating level to help companies transition to the next level. He is also actively involved in managing corporate communications and building the research capabilities of the Firm. Prior to joining Ascent Capital, Deepak worked for over a decade in the US in various operating roles – product management, business development, consulting & software development – in healthcare and technology sectors. During this period, his stints with early, fast-growing companies gave him a ringside view of the key drivers for success and various challenges faced while scaling. In his last position, he was Lead Product Manager at Biogistics Inc. in Atlanta, where he led cross-departmental teams, partook in re-engineering efforts and consulted with middle management at 30 major healthcare institutions across the US. He was also responsible for business development where he identified new markets, conceptualized products, facilitated customer acquisition and nurtured corporate partnerships. Deepak has an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, an MS in Computer Information Science from the University of South Alabama, and a BE in Electronics & Communication from the University of Mysore. Aside from Ascent, other activities that keep him engaged are farming and reading.
