Efrat Peled is the Chairman and CEO of Arison Investments, and also leads SAFO LLC (Shari Arison Family Office), both with a combined asset value of more than US$6 billion, and thousands of employees in dozens of countries across five continents. Arison Investments, owned by businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, creates long-term business investments that combine substantial financial results with sustainable moral responsibility. Providing values-driven responses to universal human needs, Arison Investments manages a diversified portfolio in finance, salt, industry, and water. The company integrates moral and ethical values in all its dealings, directing its activities towards high financial returns alongside a new business reality that is foremost environmentally and socially responsible. Arison Investments privately ownes Miya, which maximizes the efficiency of urban water systems. It had owned Salt of the Earth, Israel’s leading salt producer since 1920, as a private subsidiary of Arison Investments until it was sold to Fortissimo Capital in January 2019. For 21 years, Arison Investments was the controlling shareholder of Bank Hapoalim, Israel's leading bank. In November 2018, it sold some of its shares and ceased to be the bank's controlling shareholder. For 22 years, Arison Investments was the owners of Shikun & Binui, Israel’s leading infrastructure and real estate group, which was sold to the Saidoff Groupon on August 6, 2018. Peled is a former member of the World Economic Forum selective group of Young Global Leaders (since 2009), and a former member of the Clinton Global Initiative LEAD group (since 2010), a flagship program that brings together a select group of accomplished young leaders to develop innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Forbes Israel repeatedly ranked her one of the Most Powerful Women in Israel (No. 6 in 2013, No. 8 in 2014, and No. 9 in 2015), and one of the Leading Executives in Israel (2013). She is repeatedly ranked in Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business (No. 50 in 2012, and No. 44 in 2011), and was listed on Fortune's 10 Global Women on the Rise (2011), and Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women (2009). She received the Northwestern University Alumni Merit Award, from Kellogg School of Management, for her outstanding professional and personal achievements (2013), and was honored Executive of the Year - Conglomerates by Stevie International Business Awards (2012). Peled is a member of the Board of Directors of each of the Arison Investments companies, Salt of the Earth and Miya, and member of the board of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, Arison Group's philanthropic arm that creates social investments to bring about positive change, making benchmark contributions in several key spheres, including health, education, children and youth, culture, art and sports, populations in distress, and disabilities. She is an International Board Member of the Weizmann Institute. Peled is a former member of the broad of Bank Hapoalim, and Shikun & Binui. Peled holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg-Recanati, a joint international program of both Northwestern and Tel Aviv Universities. She also holds a BA in Accounting and Economics and a postgraduate diploma in Real Estate Appraisal and Management from Tel Aviv University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
