Ankur Ajmera has over 13 years of experience in the infrastructure and utilities sector, including in the acquisition, divestment, refinancing and asset management of critical assets. Since joining Ancala in 2016, Ankur’s key achievements include the acquisition and refinancing of a leading biogas platform in the UK, Biogen; the acquisition and subsequent divestment of a leading developer, owner and operator in the growing Dutch fibre market, Fore Freedom; the acquisition and refinancing of the largest private electricity generator in Iceland, HS Orka; and the acquisition and refinancing of the largest privately-owned freight rail operator in Scandinavia with a growing presence in Germany, Hector Rail. Prior to Ancala, Ankur worked for almost a decade in the investment banking teams of Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Capital, covering the infrastructure and utilities sector in both Europe and Australia. Key sector experience during this time included transactions in the regulated networks, renewables, power stations, water utilities and desalination plants, airports, seaports, toll roads, rail, energy from waste, waste management, energy retailing, telecommunications and public-private partnerships space. Ankur holds a Bachelors of Commerce and Law (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
