Rick joined AWC to start our Atlanta office. He has extensive Investment Banking experience through sector and product coverage over the last thirty years, which comprises over 185 completed engagements for clients in the areas of M&A, public offerings, recaps, strategic advisory assignments, fairness opinions, special committee advice and expert witness testimony. Prior to joining AWC Advisors he was Managing Director at KPMG Corporate Finance LLC, where he was the senior M&A banker for the Southeast from 2006 until 2010. From 2002 until 2006 he was Managing Director and Manager of the Duff and Phelps’ (formerly Valuemetrics) M&A and Capital Markets office in Atlanta. From 1999 until 2002, Rick was Managing Director and head of the Diversified Industries Group at Wachovia Securities, which included twelve verticals, where he had respective oversight responsibilities for all M&A and capital raising activities. He was also co-chairman of the Equity Capital Markets committee. From 1977 until 1999 Rick was associated with Interstate/Johnson Lane, which was acquired by Wachovia Securities in 1999. He served as Senior Managing Director of Corporate Finance at IJL. He started his career at Salomon Brothers as an institutional bond and block equity sales associate. Rick is frequently asked to speak on M&A, economic and capital market matters, before many industry and trade groups, including the Association of Corporate Growth, National Association of Corporate Directors and the Strategic Research Institute. Rick holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
