José De Aguinaga (Pepe), a Mexican national, joined Alta Growth Capital as a partner in 2020. He was previously a member of its Strategic Advisory Board. He has spent the last 30 years in the Fixed Income, Currencies, Rates, and Equity markets of Latin America and Mexico. Pepe has several years of experience in Corporate Finance. He has managed broker dealers, investment banking, trading and sales teams in NY, London and Mexico, most recently Casa de Bolsa Santander where he was also head of Equities and Corporate Finance. At Santander, he led the team which structured and placed the first REIT in the Mexican market, becoming the leading ECM team in the country. From 2007-2011, Pepe served as CEO of UBS Bank Mexico and Country Manager of UBS´s operations in Mexico. Mr. De Aguinaga´s international experience includes 11 years in NY in Senior Management positions. He was responsible for InverMexico USA, a registered US broker dealer, head of BBVA Securities fixed income operations and as head of Latin American FICC sales for UBS. Additionally, Pepe spent 6 years in London where he was a founding MD of Latinvest Securities, a Latin American investment bank where he successfully organized and led their FICC sales, trading and DCM efforts. He oversaw a $600 mill Latin America corporate bond portfolio. He currently serves on the Board of Multimovil, Indeval, CCV and Mexder. He is the Treasurer of a non-profit trust (Casa del Buen Samaritano) which takes care of terminal patients. Pepe holds a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana , a Management Degree from IPADE (AD2), a Finance Diploma and MBA from ITAM and attended the Corporate Governance Program from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). He speaks English and Spanish.
