Paulo Barreto has worked with members of the Alothon team since 2009 and has over 20 years of experience in investing and managing companies in Brazil. He is currently working with the senior teams of Alothon portfolio companies and is involved in the origination of new investments for the group. Before Alothon he was involved in Atmosfera Gestão e Higienização de Têxteis ("Atmosfera"), an industrial laundry services company which he co-founded in 1996. He served as Atmosfera's CEO until 2008. During his tenure, he consolidated the market by acquiring eleven competitors, diversified the business into new segments and expanded into new regions. In 2002, Advent International acquired a majority stake in Atmosfera, where Mr. Barreto stayed on as CEO. At the time of his departure, the Company had 3,200 employees and was a leader in its space. Prior to founding Atmosfera, Mr. Barreto worked in the Brazilian financial sector. Mr. Barreto holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo.
