Bio

Bob Paulson founded Aerostar Capital LLC in 1997 to specialize in private equity investments for the aerospace industry. He launched this investment program to exploit the opportunities offered by the ongoing consolidation of the aerospace industry supply chain. This need for supply chain consolidation was triggered by the merger frenzy among the aerospace primes in the 1990s. As the CEO of Aerostar Capital, Bob offers extensive aerospace and investment experience. After earning a BA in Economics (Cum Laude) from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA (with Distinction) from Harvard, Bob served as an Army Officer and as an analyst on the staff of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Analysis. Following his government service, Bob worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Company for 26 years. During his consulting career, Bob served as the head of McKinsey's Global Aerospace and Defense Practice, ran the Los Angeles Office of McKinsey, was twice elected to McKinsey's Board of Directors, and chaired the firm's committee to oversee M&A support to all McKinsey clients. Bob served over 30 major aerospace clients and supported nearly 50 acquisitions and mergers. (www.Mckinsey.com) After retiring from McKinsey, Bob founded Aerostar Capital LLC. Bob has served on the boards of many private and public companies, as well as several public service organizations. Currently he serves as a Director for Ducommun Inc. (DCO on NYSE) and WESCO Aircraft Holdings Inc (WAIR on NYSE). Bob has been a guest lecturer on M&A practices at USC Center for Telecommunications Management, has published and been quoted widely on aerospace policy issues, was a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company, and has served on various government commissions.
