Bio

James Thorp has over 32 years of private equity investment, fund management and investment banking experience. He founded AAVIN in 1999. Prior to AAVIN from 1983 to 1993 he served in various investment management positions with Allsop Venture Partners, a major Midwestern private equity firm. From 1993 to 1999 he was responsible for the private equity and investment banking activities of Berthel Fisher & Company, a major regional broker/dealer. Mr. Thorp received a BS in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Small Business Investor Alliance and served on the board of governors of the NASBIC. Mr. Thorp is also highly involved with the National High School Rodeo Association, a non-profit organization for youth.
