Over the course of his career as a global multi-national insurance executive, Dónal has been based in London, Bermuda, Miami, Puerto Rico, Toronto and most recently in Madrid. He has broad experience in strategic business development and pipeline management. He possesses a deep understanding of recurring revenue streams, process and product innovation, as well as long tenure in P+L and large-team management. Having travelled extensively throughout his career, Dónal began as a member of overseas personnel for AIG before taking a Regional Management role in the operations of the Latin America hub office for AIG in Miami. Later he was relocated to Canada as executive vice president for the Canada consumer portfolio and then once again to Madrid as the Region Vice President for Chubb, leading the Continental Europe, Middle East, and North Africa portfolios. Dónal holds a Bachelor’s degree with majors in Economics and Management and a Master’s degree with Honors in Finance, both from the University College of Cork in Ireland. He later qualified as a Chartered Accountant, specializing in the financial services sector. In June 2016, Dónal was awarded the ‘Leader of Tomorrow’ distinction by the International Insurance Society at their Annual Global Insurance Forum in Singapore. He recently graduated with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
