Bio

Martin is a partner at Weinhold Legal and head of the firm’s IT and IP group (TMT). Martin began to work at Weinhold Legal in 1998 and since that time has participated in a number of major projects in the areas of corporate law, M&A, litigation and arbitration, IP/IT law, competition law and public procurement. Martin has participated in several legislative initiatives, inter alia, co-operated on a project that produced a study for the European Commission, which examined the implementation and functioning of European companies („Societas Europaea“ – SE) in Member States of the EU/EEA, and was also a member of the expert working groups for local development in preparing amendments to the Public Procurement Act. Martin has provided advisory for a number of major Czech and multinational companies and state authorities and provided them legal services in particular in the areas of M&A , corporate law, IP/IT, real estate, dispute resolution, competition law and public procurement. Martin has been named in leading international legal referral lists and yearbooks such as Legal 500 (in the area of telecommunications, media & technology), European Legal Experts (in the areas of IP, IT, telecommunications and publications), Media Law International (in the area of media law) and PLC Which lawyer? (as a leading lawyer in the area of media & telecommunications and environmental law with regard to renewable energy sources). Martin is ranked by Managing Intellectual Property IP STARS, the leading specialist guide to IP firms and practitioners worldwide as the Global IP Star (2016-2020) and Trade mark star (2020-2021) for the Czech Republic. Martin graduated from Prague’s University of Economics in 1998 and from the Law Faculty of Prague’s Charles University in 2000. He is an attorney at law registered since 2003 in the List of Attorneys of the Czech Bar Association. In addition to his native Czech, Martin speaks English.
