Bio

Christopher Vaughn applies broad experience to counsel international and domestic clients on a range of corporate transactional issues. Christopher provides guidance to companies regarding mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, commercial contracts and general corporate matters. He most recently served in the U.S. diplomatic corps as a foreign service officer in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was based in the USAID/Ghana Mission and served as the primary transactional attorney for Power Africa and the USAID Development Credit Authority in West Africa. Prior to USAID, Christopher was associate general counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at Catholic Relief Services (CRS), one of the world’s largest humanitarian relief organizations. He was primary transactional counsel for CRS in East Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia. He helped establish their social impact investing operations. He also represented CRS regarding U.S. sanctions and export matters and served as a member of the Sanctions Subcommittee of the U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. Prior to CRS, Christopher was an associate in the corporate group at Vinson & Elkins in New York and Beijing, and the corporate group at DLA Piper in Baltimore. Prior to his legal career, Christopher served in the United States Peace Corps in Kenya as a microfinance advisor.
