Keiji Hatano is the Managing Partner of the Firm’s Tokyo office. Mr. Hatano has spent several years in the Firm’s New York office and has been a partner since 2011. His practice focuses on capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic corporate transactions. In addition, he is the only Financial Institutions Group partner in the Asia-Pacific region with extensive experience in providing U.S. regulatory advice. Mr. Hatano is recognized in, among others, Best Lawyers, Chambers, IFLR1000, Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal. He has ranked in the top 10 several times in The Nikkei’s annual rankings (international law) and was named as Japan’s top 100 lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal in 2022 and 2023. He was also recognized as the “Foreign Lawyer of the Year” at the Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards in 2023. He has been recognized as one of the “Dealmakers of Asia” by Asian Legal Business for four consecutive years since 2020.
