John Moore joined our Hong Kong office in February 2014. John is US and Hong Kong qualified and represents investment banks, corporations and private equity funds on capital markets, M&A and private equity transactions. He has extensive experience acting for underwriters and issuers on high value and complex securities transactions, equity placings and convertible bond issues, including SEC-registered, Rule 144A/Regulation S and Rule 144 offerings. John has also advised on pre-IPO equity acquisitions and subscriptions. John spent a number of years as a senior in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs. He was also a partner and co-head of the China capital markets practice at a US firm and a partner and head of the US securities and capital markets practice for Asia at a leading international firm. John served for several years as Deputy Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. John is named in the 2022 Legal 500 Asia Pacific Hall of Fame for Capital Markets (Equity) in Hong Kong. He is also recognised as a Highly Regarded Lawyer in the 2022 IFLR1000 Asia-Pacific for Capital Markets: Equity in Hong Kong, and in the 2022 Chambers Greater China for Capital Markets: Equity (International Firms), China.
