Scott Freeman focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and securities offerings, particularly cross-border transactions. He represents both buyers and sellers of public and private companies (in transactions ranging in size from several million to billions of dollars). He also represents both United States and foreign issuers and investment banks in public offerings, Regulation S and Rule 144A offerings and private placements. Scott is the co-leader of the firm’s M&A practice, which has been praised by Chambers for providing outstanding client service: “They combine real-world, practical and thoughtful advice with a great bedside manner that helps [clients] be successful. They add tremendous value.” Strong leadership on behalf of his clients has earned Scott individual acknowledgement by The Legal 500 for his work in private equity buyouts. From 2000 – 2020, Scott was a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee, and from 1995 – 2019, he was the leader of its New York M&A and Private Equity Group.
