Paul Saenz practices corporate and business law with an emphasis on representing companies in complex commercial and technology transactions. Paul helps clients structure, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts relating to: technology development, licensing and commercialization (including software, SaaS and other cloud-based transactions); consulting and professional services; content distribution; product manufacturing; sale and distribution; procurement and supply chain matters; and internet-related agreements (including terms of service and privacy policies). In addition to his transactional expertise, Paul also serves in the role of general counsel for many of his clients and provides representation on entity formation, corporate governance, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate matters. For more than 20 years, Paul has represented clients ranging from global technology companies to middle-market equipment manufacturers to media/entertainment content providers on some of their most critical business relationships. This breadth of experience has enabled Paul to develop not only a deep understanding of the sophisticated legal issues involved in these complex transactions, but also a practical approach to helping clients understand and navigate those issues. Paul received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and his undergraduate degree from Rollins College. He is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and has participated in numerous professional organizations, including serving as a past member of the Planning Committee for the University of Texas School of Law’s annual Technology Law Conference. Prior to co-founding Queen Saenz + Schutz PLLC, Paul was a partner at Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody and former Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Corporate/Securities section.
