Peter Etzbach is a partner of Oppenhoff. He started his career at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP in Frankfurt in 2002. From 2004 to 2007 he was an associate and managing associate at Linklaters Oppenhoff & Rädler / Linklaters LLP. Peter studied law at the University of Cologne (Dr. iur.) And Fordham University School of Law, New York (LL.M.). He is also admitted to the New York Bar. He was Chair of the Committee for Insurance Supervision of the International Bar Association and is member of the Expert Group for Insurance Law of the German Bar Association. Peter Etzbach focuses his practice on the insurance and financial services industry. His transaction-based activities include advising German and international industrial enterprises and financial investors on cross-border M&A transactions, joint venture projects and restructurings as well as their financing. Peter has particular expertise in corporate law, including German stock corporation law, insurance and reinsurance law, finance, capital markets as well as insurance and banking supervision. He is head of the firm's Corporate / M&A practice and leads the Insurance and Financial Services Sector Group.
