Bio

Yuko Tamai is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. She represents foreign and domestic clients on various types of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and licensing transactions. She has extensive experience in handling large-scale alliance deals, public acquisitions and carve-out transactions. She also provides strategic advice on shareholder activism and unsolicited acquisition proposals as well as corporate governance, internal control issues and crisis management. She served as a member of the Study Group for Japanese Companies’ Cross-border M&A at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) from 2017 to 2018, and a member of the Fair M&A Study Group at METI from 2018 to 2019. She has been a member of the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) since 2019 and an outside corporate auditor of MITSUI & CO., LTD. since 2022.
