Bio

Titli Datta has an active practice as a general civil litigator, with experience in matters pertaining to commercial litigation, contractual disputes, family law, regulation of professions, estate litigation, and labour and employment disputes. Titli also has a growing practice in privacy law and is a member of Miller Thomson's National Privacy and Cybersecurity Group. Titli also has extensive prior experience in the area of business law and has advised clients on a wide range of commercial transactions, corporate finance, real estate, and other general corporate commercial matters. Titli has appeared before administrative tribunals and the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench. Titli joined the Firm’s Regina office as an articling student in 2016, and remained with the Firm following her call to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2017. Titli is a dual-qualified lawyer. She received a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation – Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2016. She is a qualified Advocate in India and a Member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa (Provincial Bar Council in India) since 2006. In India, Titli worked in-house with the India affiliate of a global financial institution, with a focus on regulatory advisory in the field of telecommunications, customs & excise authorities, labour authorities, audits, and corporate matters. Prior to going in-house, Titli has also worked as an Associate at a leading full service national law firm in India, where she dealt with corporate commercial transactions. In her role there, she counseled foreign and Indian companies regarding acquisition of equity and assets, and focused on the drafting and negotiation of transactional documents. She also advised on various aspects of the Indian Government’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Policy, foreign exchange laws, labour and taxation laws.
