Bio

Robert Cattaneo represents business clients in a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, corporate governance and securities compliance matters. Bob has worked with a wide array of clients, including publicly held, multi-national corporations, private equity clients, financial institutions and family-owned businesses. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, having represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of manufacturing, distribution and service businesses throughout the United States and internationally. In many of these transactions, Miles & Stockbridge acted as lead counsel in the acquisition or divestiture of multi-national businesses and was responsible for the global transaction, both directly handling the U.S. aspects of the transaction and supervising local counsel in other countries with respect to the foreign aspects of the transaction. Bob also acts as U.S. counsel of foreign companies in their multinational transactions. Bob heads the firm’s team responsible for pre-merger clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act representing the firm's clients involved in qualifying transactions. He also serves as special HSR counsel for businesses represented by other transactional counsel. Formerly the co-chair of the Business Department at Miles & Stockbridge, Bob now co-chairs the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice area team. Bob served as the co-chairman of the Global Mergers and Acquisition Practice Group of TerraLex, a worldwide network of 15,000 attorneys in more than 155 independent law firms located in over 100 countries and 45 U.S. states.
