Ryan Gallagher maintains a broad regulatory practice that encompasses transportation law, competition law, and foreign investment regulation. He has extensive experience advising clients in mining, forestry, agriculture, chemicals and other industrial sectors on issues relating to transportation and logistics. Ryan is recognized as a leading transportation lawyer with outstanding expertise in railways. Acting on behalf of some of the largest shippers in Canada, Ryan provides advice and representation on regulatory and arbitration matters involving rates and conditions of service on and with Class I railways. Ryan also provides counsel on commercial negotiations, regulatory submissions before the Canadian Transportation Agency, industrial property development issues, and environmental permitting and approval matters. As part of his regulatory practice, Ryan assists clients with merger reviews and other matters under the Competition Act and foreign investment matters under the Investment Canada Act.
