Bio

Mr. Arshonsky is a senior trial lawyer, specializing in real estate/business litigation, representing public and privately-held entities (having represented several Fortune 500 companies), including institutional and private lenders, title insurers, escrow companies and individuals. Representative cases that Mr. Arshonsky has handled include real estate and business contract disputes, real estate fraud, construction and mechanic’s lien issues, quiet title, partition, disputes relating to purchase and sale agreements, boundaries and easements, premises liability, landlord/tenant disputes (commercial and residential), unlawful detainer, and trust and probate litigation. Mr. Arshonsky has tried cases in California and Nevada and has been lead trial counsel in approximately 20 court trials, jury trials and binding arbitrations. In 2013, Mr. Arshonsky was lead trial counsel in a 10-day court trial and obtained a defense judgment for his client in an easement dispute (upheld on appeal) and obtained an award of attorneys’ fees for the firm and for co-counsel for over $1.25 million. The year 2017 was a busy year for Mr. Arshonsky. In that year, he successfully prosecuted a breach of contract claim, resulting in the Court’s award of over $2.25 million to the firm’s client. Before judgment was entered, the defendant paid nearly $2.7 million to settle the matter. In 2017, Mr. Arshonsky also obtained a defense judgment in a real estate commission dispute, recovering an award of attorneys’ fees of approximately $100,000.00, and obtained a defense judgment in a landlord tenant dispute, recovering an award of attorneys’ fees of over $75,000.00. In 2018, Mr. Arshonsky obtained for his client in a business breach of contract action a judgment of over $2.5 million (currently on appeal by the opposing side). In a recent 2019 binding arbitration, Mr. Arshonsky successfully defended a property seller against a buyer’s claims of fraud and specific performance. In addition to his stellar trial record, Mr. Arshonsky has obtained many favorable results for clients, either through prejudgment remedies, such as temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions and writs of attachment, or through dispositive motions and settlement. Mr. Arshonsky also represents businesses and individuals in various real property and business transactions, including deeds, deeds of trust, purchase and sale agreements, leases, business contracts and corporate and limited liability formation. Mr. Arshonsky enjoys playing and watching sports, including golf and tennis. He also studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is an avid Chicago sports fan, having been born and raised there. He sings and plays piano and has performed professionally throughout his life, including currently with a classic rock cover band, TRAXX. Mr. Arshonsky received his B.Mus. from DePauw University (Greencastle, Indiana) in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School (Los Angeles, California) in 1991, where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He is licensed in the State of California and the State of Nevada.
