Joel Cartee is a partner in the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practices at Kilpatrick Townsend. Joel’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, private equity, venture capital, and commercial transactions with particular emphasis on providing strategic advice to Fortune 500 companies in connection with complex, high-profile transactions. For more than 20 years, public and private companies have relied on Joel’s practical guidance with business combinations. Clients appreciate his deep understanding of their business and the deal issues that are most important to them. During his career, Joel has handled hundreds of mergers and acquisitions transactions with an aggregate deal value in the tens of billions of dollars. Joel serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia in connection with his representation of the Office of the State Treasurer of Georgia. Joel was listed in the 2022 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® and the nine years immediately preceding for Mergers & Acquisitions, in 2021 and 2022 for Mergers & Acquisitions and Communications Law, and in 2023 for Mergers & Acquisitions, Communications Law, Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), and Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law.
