Bio

William Isenhour is a skilled corporate lawyer who advises mid-sized to large for-profit and tax-exempt companies in North Carolina on their most significant transactions and matters. In addition, he helps state and local government entities and public authorities navigate legislative changes, negotiate contracts and handle real estate transactions, and advises on board governance, environmental permitting and numerous other issues. He serves as the outside general counsel for many of his public and private clients. He recently advised a large Concord-headquartered company in the sale of its business in a $350-plus million transaction. William assisted the company through the entire sales process, from the letter of intent through the successful closing. He is also highly experienced in working with non-profit and tax-exempt entities in most aspects of their operations and business from contracts to real estate, particularly in healthcare, higher education and religious organizations. William also serves as outside general counsel to many organizations including large medical practices and country clubs in North Carolina, assisting them with governance, membership, advising them on reputation and image management, diversity policies and practices, and helping them develop plans for future growth. He also represents homebuilders and developers in land use and their acquisition and leasing of real estate – from a mid-sized office building to a 300-unit residential subdivision to everything in between. Closely-held and family-owned businesses also rely on William for advice related to succession planning and the transfer of authority and assets to the next generation of owners and leaders, whether in the family or brought in from the outside. William is licensed in both North and South Carolina and is hired by companies and organizations throughout the region on their day-to-day and most important concerns and opportunities. In 2015, William was appointed by the Concord City Council to a three-year term as Commissioner on the City of Concord Planning and Zoning Commission. In 2018, William was re-appointed for a second three term and currently serves as Chair of the Commission. He has a heart for community service, particularly in the Greater Charlotte area and in his native Cabarrus County.
