Greg Brunton is an accomplished litigator and trial attorney whose expertise encompasses all aspects of the energy industry, as well as complex commercial matters including trade secret litigation, covenants not to compete, land use, and class action disputes. Mr. Brunton's experience in the myriad of legal issues stemming from the Marcellus and Utica shale development makes him a trusted resource for many clients, both large corporations and individuals, regarding all issues related to the shale plays, including eminent domain and land acquisition, oil gas leasing, Dormant Mineral Act litigation, title disputes and royalty rights. As co- chair of the Firm’s Energy Infrastructure Group, Mr. Brunton has dedicated a substantial portion of his career to the representation of midstream energy companies in all aspects of their projects. Mr. Brunton has been lead counsel for numerous interstate and intrastate pipeline projects, and has provided legal representation for projects traversing thousands of miles in multiple states. Mr. Brunton is also often called upon to defend high stakes professional negligence claims and commercial business disputes. Some of his more notable successes include a defense jury verdict on behalf of a major law firm involving the handling of a class action lawsuit, successfully defending an intellectual property law firm at the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, defending a creditor rights law firm in a class action, and successfully litigating shareholder disputes. Mr. Brunton has argued cases in the Ohio Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington D.C., the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and state appellate courts throughout Ohio.
