Bio

Franz Hardy serves as co-managing partner of the Denver office. He is a trial attorney with a focus on business and insurance litigation, including commercial disputes, directors and officers liability, coverage, and employee benefits. Mr. Hardy is also recognized as an accomplished professional liability practitioner representing attorneys and law firms. He maintains an active state and federal court practice, including handling numerous appeals. Mr. Hardy works closely with his clients to develop a sound and cost-effective legal strategy. While recognizing that most cases resolve, he believes that creating an early litigation plan often times results in favorable resolution. This strategy involves the efficient and effective use of pre-trial tools. Demonstrating his focus on client goals, he is proud to have represented the state's largest public utility over his entire legal career. Mr. Hardy has held various leadership positions within in the legal community. He is the immediate past president of the Denver Bar Association. He previously served as chair of the University of Colorado Law School Alumni Board. Mr. Hardy is also a past president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado. Further, as current Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee, he is responsible for guiding the firm's award-winning commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in more than forty offices. Mr. Hardy is a frequent author and lecturer on various topics affecting attorneys and the practice of law, including ethics, privileges, confidentiality, and diversity.
