Doris A. Kaelin is a partner in the Business Transactions and Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights practice groups at the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees. Ms. Kaelin has nearly 20 years of experience in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganization, and debtors’ and creditors’ rights. In addition to representing bankruptcy trustees and debtors and creditors in bankruptcy, she also represents companies in the wind down and dissolution of businesses, and assignees in assignments for the benefit of creditors. Ms. Kaelin has also been appointed by the Office of the United States Trustee, a branch of the United States Department of Justice, as a bankruptcy trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. Kaelin has been involved in over 40 bankruptcy and out of court asset sale transactions. She has advised debtors, assignees and other fiduciaries on contract, lease and other claim disputes, and in most instances reaching settlement without the necessity of litigation. With a practice based in Silicon Valley, her representations have included many technology companies, as well as businesses in the retail sector.
