Bio

Jose Visoso practice is centered on the belief that our Firm can only be an ally of our clients if we truly understand their business needs and strategies. He co-heads the M&A and Private Equity groups of the Firm. His professional practice focuses on M&A, financings and real estate projects, and he has acted as legal advisor to institutional investors as well as local and international corporations in complex acquisitions. He also advises financial institutions on their lending activities in Mexico. He is an active officer on the Latin American Regional Forum of the International Bar Association. José is recognized as Band 1 in The 2023 Chambers Latin American Guide in Corporate/M&A: The Elite practice. Likewise, he is ranked as “Hall of Fame” in The Legal 500 Latin American Guide in the same practice. He is also recognized by Latin Lawyer and IFLR1000 as one of the leading M&A practitioners in Mexico. The French publication Leaders League ranks him as “Leading” in the Banking & Finance practice. José has a law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City) where he also studied a Postgraduate degree in Legal Aspects of Investment. He has a master’s degree in Law (LLM) and a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University. He remains academically active as visiting professor at Universidad Panamericana. He gained international experience working as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, in the Washington, D.C. and New York offices. Strongly committed to Pro Bono, José serves on the board of various non-profit organizations focused on education and vulnerable communities in Mexico. José is Co-Managing Partner of the Firm; and is member of the Executive and Compensation Committees.
