Bio

Daniel Londoño is an attorney with more than 12 years of professional experience and member our M&A and Banking and Finance practices. His professional career began in the firm Silva Piñeros & Gómez. He has worked at Gómez- Pinzón Zuleta since 2005 and before that he worked at the IDB and the IIC in Washington DC. Daniel is an attorney from Universidad Javeriana with an LL.M Georgetown University. Currently, he is an invited professor of the MBA of the ICESI University of Cali, where conducts a course on Financial Law. As a member of the Banking, Finance & Capital Markets business unit, Daniel focuses his practice in advising local borrowers, and local, international and multilateral institutions credit institutions in financing operations including corporate loans, project finance and acquisition financings transactions, and in debt and equity operations in the local and international securities markets. In addition, Daniel leads the work related to licensings before the Colombian Superintendence of Finance in connection with regulatory approvals required for the incorporation of all types of financial, insurance and brokerage institutions, structuring and licensing of private equity funds and other collective investment schemes. His M&A practice focuses primarily in transactions related with the financial, insurance and broker dealer sectors, As part of his work in this sector he has participated in the sale by Royal and Sunalliance PLC of its Colombian life insurance company, advise to the National Government through Fogafín in the privatization of Granbanco-Bancafé, the acquisition and divestiture by AIG of Inversora Pichincha (currently Banco Pichincha S.A.) from and to the Pichincha Group of Ecuador, the representation of Mercantil Colpatria in its different transactions regarding the sale of Banco Colpatria, Colfondos and its insurance, capitalization and health insurance businesses, and in the representation of Helm Group in the sale of up to 100% of its equity state in Helm Bank to Banco Corpbanca.
