Bio

Eric Belsley, a partner in our corporate department, is a co-chair of our private funds practice. Eric’s practice focuses on the representation of private equity (including buyout, credit, and other strategies) and venture capital funds and their sponsors in all aspects of their business, including fund formation, management company/GP structuring, and transactions. He represents a wide range of fund managers, from well-known managers with billions of dollars in AUM to start-up and emerging managers. Eric brings to bear perspectives and skills not traditionally found with many private fund lawyers. Eric’s unusual background (for a lawyer) as a math Ph.D. provides him with a differentiated toolset for solving clients’ issues analytically and creatively. He also has deep insight into clients’ need for practical, efficient, business-oriented advice, grounded in his experience founding the Mac Resource Page, a daily e-zine about Macintosh computers he sold to Price.com in 2001.
