Alison Currie is a partner in FisherBroyles’ Atlanta office. Ms. Currie defends physicians, hospitals, nurses, nursing homes, dentists, psychotherapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, technicians, and other medical providers in medical malpractice cases. Ms. Currie also defends doctors, nurses, and mid-level providers who work in correctional settings — jails and prisons — in civil rights suits. She defends these medical providers in both state and federal courts under Georgia law and 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Additionally, she represents ERISA healthcare plans, their fiduciaries, and plan participants in healthcare reimbursement disputes. Ms. Currie represents medical providers in privileging matters and state composite board hearings. She also defends general civil liability claims and engages in other civil litigation. In law school, Ms. Currie won multiple advocacy awards: she was the overall winner of the Georgia’s Intrastate Moot Court Competition, as well as winner of that competition’s “Best Brief” award. She was the overall winner of the University of Georgia’s Talmadge Moot Court Competition. She was a quarterfinalist in the University of Georgia’s Richard B. Russell Moot Court Competition and its J. Ralph Beaird 1L Closing Argument Competition. She also served as the Notes Editor for UGA’s Journal of Intellectual Property. Ms. Currie is admitted to practice law in Georgia’s trial courts, Court of Appeals, Supreme Court, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, as well as the Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. She is married to a dentist.
