Clarke Barnes is the Managing Partner of the Fasken’s Calgary office, and is responsible for the firm’s operations in Alberta. Clarke’s practice is focused on tax as well as mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and commercial transactions. Clients rely on Clarke’s practical, results-oriented approach to complex legal issues across a wide range of industries, with a primary focus on financial services, energy and technology. Corporate and personal tax clients trust Clarke to advise on tax-effective transaction and corporate structures, reorganizations of private and public companies, disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and other taxing authorities, structuring both “in-bound” and “out-bound” cross-border investments, providing legal opinions on questions of tax law and providing general advice on a variety of on-going compliance matters.
