Mukta Dutta is a Partner in the Litigation, Arbitration & Dispute Resolution practice of ELP. She has over 16 years’ experience in challenging regulatory actions, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Mukta has been engaged in a vast range of issues involving challenging government actions with special focus on the medical devices, pharma & life sciences industries and the mining industry. Her interests include examination of government regulatory policies and actions and providing assistance to clients in making effective representations on relevant issues. She has been involved in several key litigation including the challenge to prohibition of fixed dose combinations affecting the pharma industry, challenge to imposition of penalties upon the bauxite mining industry in Jharkhand following the Common Cause judgment, challenge to invocation of PBGs deposited by mining companies after fresh coal block allocations and the prohibition on domestic sale of oxytocin by private manufacturers. Mukta also has vast experience of handling commercial litigation and arbitration and advises on laws relating to Food & Drugs, Price Control, Legal Metrology and Packaging, Information Technology and Bankruptcy. Prior to joining ELP, Mukta was a senior associate at Virmani & Virmani and has also been an associate for Ms. Indira Jaising, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India. She completed her L.L.B. in the year 2002 from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi and holds a degree in Arts (Political Science) from the Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Mukta is admitted with the Bar at Delhi.
